Off-Stamp SW16000 Review: More Puffs Than Before

The Off-Stamp SW16000 is the upsized version of the Off-Stamp SW9000. Like the SW9000 (that I reviewed earlier this year), the SW16000 is a modular two-part vape, including a magnetized battery/charging dock (800 mAh) that snaps on a disposable vape (210 mAh). 

The new SW16000 is rated for up to 16000 puffs and comes with an increased e-liquid capacity of 17 mL. The SW16000 also has an updated flavor menu, which is different from the SW9000. Everything else is the same: draw-activated, USB-C port on the charging dock, and a tight MTL draw. Lastly, if you already have a battery from the Off-Stamp SW9000, you can use it with the SW16000. 

In the original review, I mentioned that you should keep the battery dock if you plan on getting another flavor, because the battery/vape kit is a few dollars more than just buying the vape without the battery dock. But even if you don't have an Off-Stamp battery dock, once you buy one, you won’t need to buy another unless you just want more batteries (which many vapers do). 

If you have read my original review, you will know that I really loved the SW9000. Since nothing has changed with the tech, I expect to like the SW16000 just as much as the SW9000. Let’s get into the review and see if that's the case.

Size, look, and feel

The Off-Stamp SW16000 is just as cool-looking as I thought the SW9000 was when I first got it. Just from the construction side of things, with the strong magnetic battery dock and body design resembling an office stamp, the SW series are fun disposables to carry. For more details on its construction and design, see the original review of the SW9000. 

Remember, the only thing that’s supposed to be different here is the size. The SW16000 measures 88 mm x 49 mm x 22 mm (with dock), which is about the same as a small box mod. For the sake of comparison, the SW9000 measures 88 mm x 42 mm x 22 mm. That’s just an additional 7 mm in total width added.  When I first got the SW16000, I hadn’t even noticed that it was larger. Although it’s slightly larger than the SW9000, both can be vaped hands-free. With the SW16000, though, that’s easier to do with only the disposable portion (without the dock). 

Just like on the SW9000, there’s an emoticon on the device that’s split in half by the two sections. The batteries have different colors than the disposables and come with their own (half) emoticon. You can mix and match the battery docks with the vapes to create new images and a new look with the change of battery color.

Although a minor quibble, my original docks' lines for the emoticons don't meet up perfectly with the new SW16000 disposables, but everything meets up precisely with the battery docks that came with the SW16000. 

*Note: There's a stamped message inside the magnetized side of the disposable vape portion of the SW16000. It says something kooky, like "Even superheroes need a nap." That stamp wasn't in the first run of SW16000 devices I got. This review is based on the latest run with the stamped message. 

Getting started

Using the SW16000 is straightforward. Remove the device from the package, peel off the stickers and plugs, and start vaping.  If you bought the full kit, you’ll need to attach the two sections, which are connected by strong magnets.

The SW16000 has an automatic draw, so you don’t even have to push a button to vape. Just inhale and it’ll activate on its own. 

If you only have the solo unit without the charging dock, you'll need to order the full kit ASAP, since the disposable section's 210 mAh battery does not last long. Also, there’s no charge port on the disposable vape portion. The only way that section gets charged is with the dock attached, whether in direct charging or on-the-go charging. 

For example, you can charge or extend the battery of your disposable just by attaching the battery dock. But if the battery dock needs to be charged as well as the SW16000, you can also charge them both by keeping them attached and connecting the dock to a charger. 

Charging them simultaneously on the wall will take the longest but give you the longest run time since both parts will be charged before you start vaping. I recommend having them both charged to start the day. Ideally, you'd have one more charged battery dock on standby. Considering that, I recommend having at least two battery docks. You can purchase them individually or with a kit. 

If purchased invidually, the battery docks now come with a digital readout that makes the charge status easier to comprehend. The battery docks that come with the kit do not have the digital readout.

How does it hit?

The SW16000 provides a great MTL draw that is tight, warm, and quiet. I’d say of all the disposables I’ve vaped, the Off-Stamp SW series might be the quietest. When you take a hit, you can hardly hear a thing! The airflow is so tight, you don’t get much air noise, and the coil sizzle is barely audible. 

The SW16000 features a mesh coil that hits quickly and without any gurgling, spitback, or popping.  The flat whistle-tip mouthpiece enhances the MTL experience in my opinion, making it an ideal MTL set up for the 5% nicotine.

Off-Stamp SW16000 best flavors

The flavors I tried from the SW9000 were good. The first one I tried from the SW16000, which was rainbow sherbet, is excellent! I enjoyed most of the flavors, and even the ones I like the least are still perfectly vapeable when my favorites run out. Altogether, I'd rate the overall flavor quality about a solid B. Nothing spectacular, but overall good. Most flavors have a silky smooth base that gives each flavor something similar even while being totally different flavors. 

Rainbow sherbet: A sweet and tart mix of fruity flavors that comes close to the essence of rainbow sherbet. Under the taste of fruity flavors, there’s a subtle creamy base, which helps give that sherbet taste. Little to no cooling notes. 

Mango twist: It's a sweet and bright fruity flavor, with a little bit of cooling at the end. Not a whole lot of mango flavor though. If you want to taste “MANGO,” try the Geekbar Mexico Mango. But if you're more into the device itself, mango twist will suit you just fine. 

Dragon melon ice: A unique and tasty flavor. The dragon fruit taste, with its almost buttery fruit notes, pairs well with the melon flavor. I’m just guessing, but I think the melon flavor is honeydew. The cooling notes are mild, despite being an ice flavor. 

Baja blast: Tropical though hard to identify particular flavors. It's sour and slightly sweet. I really enjoy this flavor. Light cooling.

Blue razz grape ice: The familiar taste of blue razz with the juicy, sweet taste of purple grapes. If you're a fan of blue razz but want something slightly different, this is a good one. Medium cooling.

How long do they last?

The battery life of the SW16000 without the dock is not very long. You can probably get a couple of hours of vaping before it dies. With the dock attached, there’s a significant boost in battery. There’s no juice indicator, so I can’t tell how much I’ve vaped before needing to recharge, but on average, I need to charge these about once every two days. 

As mentioned in the Getting Started section, the SW16000 can be purchased by itself (assuming you have a battery dock), or in a kit with the battery dock. The battery dock is also sold individually. The thing to remember here is that you must buy the battery dock (either in a kit or individually) if you want to charge the disposable. There is no charging port on the disposable vape section, only on the battery dock. 

When you connect the battery to the device, a green light will illuminate to show you it's connected properly. But to know your battery status, you have to take a hit. When it flashes red, that means it's time to charge. When it’s charging, it’ll flash red, then green, then turn off once finished.

To charge the battery dock, simply plug in a USB-C cord to the dock and come back to it in about 90 minutes. It’s a fairly long charge, but the dock has a good capacity at 800 mAh. 

If your disposable battery is drained, you can charge the vape with the dock attached so that both get charged. Or you can just charge the dock and let it charge the vape while you’re on the go. If you charge them both at the same time, you'll get the most battery life, but it'll take over two hours to charge.

Note: The battery dock that comes with the SW9000/16000, is slightly different than the one you can buy separately. Off-Stamp upgraded the battery dock that’s purchased by itself. It now has a button and battery indicator screen for making the charge easier to read.

Verdict

I was smitten with the Off-Stamp SW9000, and I like the SW16000 just as much. My biggest gripes with the Off-Stamp SW series are the battery indicator lights and the lack of a juice indicator of some sort. 

Other than those cons, I have nothing bad to say about the SW16000. It's a great disposable that's fun to use. I love carrying these devices around and playing with the magnets. That said, if they didn't perform well, I wouldn't ever carry them, no matter how strong the magnets were!

With the increase in liquid capacity being the biggest difference between the SW16000 and the SW9000, the SW16000 gets a strong recommendation—just like the SW9000 did.
