VOOPOO VINCI 3 Review: Great Battery Life and an Excellent Coil

The VINCI 3 is the latest pod system by VOOPOO, one of the more popular companies in vaping ever since the release of the original DRAG mod. While I’ve found them to be hit or miss overall, their pod systems have been generally good, so I'm happy to try their latest product in this category.

The VINCI 3 is a device that feels a lot like a hybrid between a pod system and a box mod. It comes with a screen, adjustable output from 5-50 watts, and fully adjustable airflow. Its internal battery is listed at 1800 mAh, and it takes pods that have a 4 mL capacity. It uses the widely available PnP coils, with a ton of options to choose from.

Build quality and design

The VINCI 3 is a rectangular pod system in the style that is pretty common these days. It’s not the smallest, though, due to its large battery. It’s pretty thick but still easily pocketable, especially for a device listed at 50 watts. Its body features a solid metal frame with plastic panels on the front and back for design (which they call an “optical coating decorative sheet”) and a nice touch with rubber on the bottom to make it more stable while standing up.

Right below the juice window, it features an airflow slider that gives a really meaningful air adjustment, from a solid MTL to a solid DL vape and everything in between. It also weighs very little but feels really solid in the hand. Should easily hold up to day-to-day usage.

The device is available in five colors. While three of them have a black frame, the rose gold and aurora blue offer a frame that matches the colorway. I received the carbon fiber black, and it has a nice matte black body contrasted with the shiny black carbon fiber panels.

The VINCI 3 has a basic 0.69-inch black-and-white screen that does the job and is more than most other pods offer. It displays battery in percentage, watt setting, puffs, and coil resistance.

Finally, there is a nice juice window. The pods are clear, and you can see all the way to the bottom, which is great. Very easy to see your juice level at all times.  All in all, it’s a sleek-looking, well-designed, and solidly built device, with all the bells and whistles a pod can offer.

Getting started

The VINCI 3 is an advanced pod system that’s best for vapers with some device experience. It features one button, which you can click five times to turn on and off, or click three times to enter “wattage adjust mode”. In this mode, you can hold the button down to cycle the wattage or click it to adjust, and then long click or wait to lock the wattage in. It also acts as a fire button, but the device is also draw-activated, which is what I prefer for pods, personally. Also, it’ll automatically adjust to the max wattage based on coil resistance, which is nice.

Filling the pod is basic. You don’t need to remove the pod at all—just push back on the tip, and the tip cover will pop right off, exposing the fill hole with the rubber flap on it. Then just put your fine-tipped bottle into the fill hole and squeeze. That simple. The large juice window allows you to see how full it is as you fill without any issues.

The pod itself is magnetic and comes in and out very easily. It’s not tight in there, but the magnets hold it in place well with no wiggle. To remove the pod, just grab it and pull it out. No special tricks needed. To put it back in, just pop it in and the magnets will grab it. To replace the coil, just pull it out and pop in a new one. The coil sticks out a lot, so it’s easy to remove and swap without the use of any tools and can be done by hand without breaking a nail. Really well-designed.

Overall, the usage is perfect for someone with a little experience in vaping devices, but you don’t need to be an expert by any means. With the easy-to-replace coils, practical air slider, easy filling, and great juice window, this design would be perfect for a more basic pod as well. I do think beginners will learn this one quickly.

Performance

The VINCI 3 uses an already existing line of coils from VOOPOO, called the “PnP” coil line. It’s fully compatible with all of them, and there are options ranging from 10-watt MTL to 40+ watt DL coils, and even an RBA option (although the RBA coil is pretty small and difficult to build on.) The draw on this device can go from a solid MTL to a solid DL based on how you set the dial on the “Mobius” airflow, as they call it, and the kit comes with one coil for each style of vaping.

The two included coils are the Pnp-TW30 which is a 0.3-ohm coil rated at 28-36 watts for DL vaping, and the PnP-DW60, which is a 0.6-ohm coil rated at 18-23 watts for a loose MTL to really restricted DTL vaping.

Starting with the 0.3-ohm coil, I found it best at around 30 watts, with the airflow mostly open. It was just ok as far as flavor goes, and coil life wasn’t great either. It falls into that 20-30 watts area which is a “no man’s land” spot for me. It’s low wattage for a good DL vape and lower nic juices, but it’s too high for MTL vaping and higher nic juices. Some may like it, but I feel like 20-30 watts is kind of a dead zone. Overall, that coil left a lot to be desired.

On to the 0.6-ohm coil, which I tested using high nicotine salt juice. The coil performed best at 17 watts, with the air around 20-25% open for a loose MTL. This is where the device shined for me. The flavor was good for an MTL pod coil, and coil life was excellent, exceeding 20 mL of usage.

Overall, I found the higher wattage coil to be lacking, but the lower wattage coil makes it function as a great pod system.

Battery life and charging

The VINCI 3 comes with an internal battery listed at 1800 mAh, but I could not find a listed charge rate anywhere. The port is USB-C, and it is located on the side of the device under the air intake holes, so it can stand up while charging.

Testing for charge rate, I got a max of 1.11A max, so a 1A rating is fair if they choose to list one. Charge time is pretty long due to the large battery. I timed it at around 1 hour 45 minutes. Most pods charge in 30-60 minutes, but since this has a larger battery than most pods out there, it takes twice as long. For battery size, I got a usable 1700 mAh, which is excellent for the rating, especially since most devices are about 20% overrated (this one is 6%).  Battery capacity is very large for a pod system but had to be due to having a 50-watt output. When used with the lower wattage coil, this device should be an all-day vape for most people.

Oddly, it does not have passthrough vaping, which is pretty rare. I last saw it on another VOOPOO device, so that’s likely due to a similar series chip. Still, I’ll ding them for that, as passthrough should be standard for pods.

Verdict

Overall, the design and performance of the VINCI 3 are excellent. It checks all my boxes with no issues—not even minor ones. Paired with the 0.6-ohm coil, it offers a great loose MTL; that’s where it shines for me.

If you are using pods to vape MTL and don’t mind the extra size, it’s a great option for longer battery life, larger pod capacity, and fully adjustable airflow. I wouldn’t recommend it for a DL option though, unless you just want to vape a bit of RDL on the side.
